i published a post and then it disappeared?

my post disappeared after if was published. I wrote a post called “Hollow Girls” with a picture of ballerinas. I published it. Saw it on my blog and edited it. A while later and it has disappeared. It is no longer on my blog or in my “posts” when I go through dashboard. I am annoyed that it was showing up in my reader as published and is now nowhere to be found. I even looked in my “trash” even though I didn’t delete it. Why has it disappeared? How do I get it back?

I see it here now http://thefatballerinablogs.wordpress.com/2014/05/25/hollow-girls-2/ and the 2 at the end of the URL indicates the first copy is in your Trash.
It sounds like your blog may be caught up in the duplicate blogs issue so I’ll tag this thread for Staff. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

I checked my trash and drafts multiple times and it wasn’t there. I rewrote the post after I put this on the forum which is why this title shows up on my blog. It was really odd how it just vanished!

I wonder if while you were editing the post, a draft of it was also open in a separate browser tab? This may have caused different versions of the post to auto-save and eventually your first post disappeared and took on another URL.
In the future, please make sure to edit or write posts in only one tab to prevent similar problems. I hope I made sense. Let me know if you need further clarifications. Cheers!

Sorry to hijack, I’ve had the same problem! I published a post yesterday from my mobile phone yesterday called Dementia Awareness Week 19-25th May 2014. I received a comment, and it was shared on Facebook. I edited it earlier today, but I’ve just gone on my blog now and the post has disappeared. A very early version is showing up in my drafts, but the published post has vanished.

What is the URL of the post or at least the title please?
If the post was created on the dashboard of your own blog at Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New then you ought to be able to recover a lost post or page from revisions if needs be.

I recommend:
Always create your posts on the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
Always allow pages to fully load before clicking any other links.
