I purchased Site Redirect. Why do my images only load some of the time?
-
I recently made the switch from wp.com to a self hosted wp.org blog. I purchased Site Redirect from wp.com.
Here is the problem: any images that were in posts BEFORE the move either show up as a broken link or only load some of the time. Sometimes I see posts with all of the images as broken links and sometimes there’s a combination of loaded and broken imgaes.
It’s not a problem that applies to a specific image. The same image can show one time and not show another.
What I THINK is happening, is that the redirect for the image URL is not happening fast enough before the page finishes loading. (very frustrating!)
Is there a way to fix this?
Is there a better redirect option?
Is it something else completely that is causing it?This has become a HUGE problem since images are the focus of my posts.
Thank you!The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you please try clearing out your browser cache?
Do you also encounter this issue in a different browser? for example Firefox or Internet Explorer.
-
It isn’t the cache. I have the same problem on multiple computers and my readers encounter it too.
I have tried it on different browsers, and the same problem happens.
-
It also happens for pictures that are posted using my WP image source that AREN’T on my blog. For example: pictures that are part of a guest post where I copied and pasted HTML to the hosting blog.

Here are 2 links that have my images on guest posts:
1. http://www.oneartsymama.com/2013/06/wire-crochet-bracelet-brianna.html2. http://www.oneartsymama.com/2013/06/meet-the-top-3.html
On my blog, it CAN happen to any post that was written before I switched to WP.org and self hosted. (Please reread my original post to this topic)
It is not specific to what images are affected. Sometimes an image will work, and sometimes that same image will not. Sometimes all of the images will show, and sometimes none of them will show. Sometimes it is a combination of images that do and don’t show. All for the same post and for EACH post. Here are just 2 examples of posts that are affected:
1. http://craftandrepeat.com/2013/04/15/diy-wall-art-textured-mixed-media/2. https://craftandrepeat.wordpress.com/2013/05/11/six-dollar-kitchen-countertop-transformation/
Thank you.

I took a look and everything is working properly. It’s hard to determine what the actual issue is. If you see a broken link, could you click on it and send that link?
The images are still hosted on WordPress.com and haven’t been imported into your self-hosted site. Is this what you wanted?
-
My images ARE imported into my self-hosted site. They have to be hosted on wordpress.com unless I want to manually change the image source in every single post or replace each picture. WordPress.com does not offer an actual download of the media library, it only exports posts and takes the attached pictures with, but with the wordpress.com image URL. Shouldn’t you know this?
Anyway, I have fixed the problem on my own. The tutorial I followed to make the switch had me set my .com blog to private to avoid further commenting or activity because obviously those comments won’t show on the .org self-hosted site. I realized how stupid a suggestion that was because it made all of my pictures inaccessible to anyone not signed into my account. This is also most likely why you could see the pictures as a wp.com employee. The redirect solves that problem anyway.
Thanks for your time.
