I really can't ever use my blog's domain name again?
-
I may want to run for the Tennessee House again and would like to be able to use “holsingerforhouse.wordpress.com” again in that event, but the “delete” message says I won’t be able to use it again. Could you please comment on this? Thank you!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.

Why not just have a new Post – thank all of those that supported and helped your campaign – leave all the old content up – don’t delete it – if you want to help make a difference – put a contact form with a note that you are available for public speaking events (if you really are available) – then continue to make Posts covering current topics in your area – that keeps the name up – does not waste your writing –
Then if you do decide to run again – the good URL is still up – your old content on where you stand is still there so people can see what your positions are – and maybe you will influence a few people in the next few years

You can also set every page and post but the one “Thank you this site is closed” one to Private.
When the warnings say deletions are permanent and irreversible, believe them. Every day we get a bunch of people going “but I thought you were lying!” We’re not.

Thanks for the suggestions–I will make the blog “private,” so I can activate it again if necessary.
