I received a request as a comment regarding hacking of websites

I received a comment on one of my pictures from someone asking about whether I’d been hacked on wordpress.

    Foolishly I replied.
The email of course bounced as a yahoo address.
    the address was
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
I guess its a way to extract my email address and I’ve been silly enough to fall for it.

I did not Approve the comment and its been deleted.
    What to do?
Other than not respond or approve any comments.

  • There isn’t much more to do at this point. :-) In general, simply approving and replying to comments on your blog does not reveal your email address to anyone. As long as you don’t send emails directly to your commenters you should be OK in the future.

Just let me know if you need further help!

    Hi Kathryn,
Thanks for the reassurance. Bit hard sometimes when people ask real questions and the only way to really respond is an email. I will stick to reply on comments from now on.
