I received a violent threat from a reader. Not sure how to report it.

    Jesus spoke in spiritual terms, not physical.

    So when the hungry are fed, thirsty are given drink, stranger are taken in, naked are clothed, sick or in prison are visited, Jesus is talking about those who were hungry and thirsty and needed the Gospel of Christ; they were naked and sick and in prison because of their sin. This isn’t talking about physically filling the needs of people, this is in reference to filling their spiritual needs. To try and attach a physical meaning to a spiritual reference perverts the meaning, and you will get nowhere except with those who are as equally stupid as you are.

    Now, in reference to physically helping those in need, this is very simple: If Jesus believed that it was the role of gov’t to help all these people, he had ample opportunity to condemn the Roman Empire for doing nothing about it. He didn’t. That’s because it’s the role of individuals.

    Now, can individuals agree do help others via gov’t programs? Yes. But because one doesn’t view those things being the role of the gov’t doesn’t mean they don’t care for others, it just means they don’t agree with that method as being the best one. You left-wing freaks need to grow up and recognize that. You’re wrong. We’re right. That will never change. Never.

    And tell riqster to shut his stupid mouth before I shut it for him. And I can, I assure you.

If and only if (1) you are referring to a blogger with a blog being hosted by WordPress.COM and you believe this threat to be legitimate and are sincerely frightened by it, rather than being annoyed, then hire an attorney and please read these so you know how to proceed:

    We cannot block or delete subscribers from public blogs. Anyone and everyone can access public blogs and that’s indeed what the public designation means. However, please read this about public blogs that become private blogs > Blog Privacy and Subscribers > http://wpcommaven.wordpress.com/2011/09/05/blog-privacy-and-subscribers/

    Note that you have complete control comment moderation. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-moderation If your blog is public others can, of course, read it and they can submit comments but you can Moderate all comments and choose which ones to approve or not.

    I suggest you set your blog so that first time commenters are held in moderation until their first comment is approved, then from that point forward they will not need approval. Settings > Discussion. The next step up is to set it so that all comments are held in moderation until approved. http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/

    For trolls, you can “blacklist” them at Settings > Discussion toward the bottom of that page. Enter their email address, their username, and if they included it, their website URL. That will automatically send them to moderation so that their comments do not appear on the blog. Do note though that if they are determined, they can use a different email address or username to get around that.

    Also, do not put their IP address in the blacklist. IP addresses are no longer unique, and you might end up blocking legitimate visitors. Also, all they would have to do is go to a wi-fi hot spot, or connect via a different ISP and they could get around that.

    Also create a commenting policy of your own and post it on a Page and follow it.
