  I received an invitation to view a WordPress site. I followed the instructions to create a wordpress.com account but I’m not able to access my friend’s site. When I click on the Accept Invitation button it takes me to a Log In page. When I enter my username and password and click the Log In button it loops back to the Log In page with blank username and password fields. I also tried entering my email address and password but got the same results. How do you specify who can access the site? Is it by email address?

  Can you please give me a link to the site you are trying to view? I can take a closer look at that to see what’s going on there.

  The site is pookiebearelsa.com. My wife was able to create her own account and access the site from her PC. When I tried using her login on my PC with Chrome, the browser I always use, I had the same problem as before. However, when I used her login with IE on my PC, it worked. I have tried deleting all the cookies associated with wordpress but it didn’t help.

  Apparently, I am still logged on to wordpress with my wife’s ID.

  Thanks! Do you have third-party cookies enabled in Chrome on your PC? Those cookies are what keep you logged in on sites that have a custom domain name (like pookiebearelsa.com), so if they are disabled you can run into trouble with that.

  If you aren’t sure, you can check our support page about Third Party Cookies — that page will check to see if you have those cookies enabled, and give you instructions to enable them if you need.
