I recently moved my domain name but lost my WordPress site

    Hi, WordPress!

    Please help! Last week, I moved my domain name of KelseyKSmith.com to Square Space to support a personal portfolio. However, the old website that was supported through WordPress and GoDaddy under that domain is now undiscoverable via my WordPress log in.

    When I log in to WordPress, the only site I find under my email address is Wunderland Chronicals — this is not the content I was hoping to find.

    Please help!! Is there any way to help find my other website that was previously supported through the domain kelseyksmith.com? I transferred this domain only 3 days ago and I’m so upset to find the content (that was discoverable via that domain name) is now lost somewhere.

    I’m happy to provide any additional information you need to help find this content.

    We can’t help you as your site wasn’t running on the wordpress.com platform. You must contact GoDaddy support to solve this problem.

    Hi there,

    To add a bit more detail here:

    Your site is using the open source WordPress software, hosted at GoDaddy.com.

    The forum you’re posting in now is for another hosting provider, WordPress.com. You don’t see your kelseyksmith.com site in your account with us, because you’re not hosting it with us. You’re hosting it with GoDaddy.

    To manage that site, you need to log in using your admin user credentials that were created when you installed the WordPress software on your server with GoDaddy. Those are stored directly in your site’s database, and have no connection to your WordPress.com username account that you’re using to post here.

    If you’re not sure what those admin user credentials are, GoDaddy support should be able to help you reset them.
