I registered a domain but want to turn off the auto-renew

I registered jaguarbusiness.com the other day. First of all, where is the server that this is stored on? I have web hosting services from hostgator but i don’t see this website in my public_html folder. Also, how can I turn off the auto-renew so that I only own this domain for 1 year?

Also I bought it as jaguarbusiness.com so why when I select it below is it “jaguarbusiness.wordpress.com” ?

    Thanks,
    John

    Hi there!

    > First of all, where is the server that this is stored on? I have web hosting services from hostgator but i don’t see this website in my public_html folder.

Your WordPress.com site is hosted by us here at WordPress.com. Are you trying to migrate your site from WordPress.com to HostGator? Or vice versa?

    > Also, how can I turn off the auto-renew so that I only own this domain for 1 year?

You can disable automatic renewal from Store > My Upgrades. Just select “Disable Auto Renew” under your upgrade.

    > Also I bought it as jaguarbusiness.com so why when I select it below is it “jaguarbusiness.wordpress.com” ?

jaguarbusiness.com is the address that your visitors will see when they visit your site.

The jaguarbusiness.wordpress.com address is an address that was created when you created your account and blog.

If you wish to change your WordPress.com address, you can do so by following these instructions:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

This is purely for your benefit, as the WordPress.com name change will be invisible to the visitors to your site.

If you ever decide to no longer use the domain jaguarbusiness.com, your site will still be available at jaguarbusiness.wordpress.com.

Does that clarify things? Please let me know if you have any other questions!
