I removed a plugin because it was slowing my site, even after removal, it is still slowing my site

So I was using the plugin ‘free-counter’ and I noticed that the site kept loading and loading and never would stop. At the bottom of the page, it would say ‘waiting for free-counter.org’ so I removed the plugin. Simple. Right? Not so much.
At the bottom of my page, after the footer, its a blank white bar accross the page, and depending on what browser you use, it might say, ‘set up error’ or it might have the icon for a missing image.
I cannot find it’s location in the theme settings anywhere, it is not located in the widgets as it was before, and it is upsetting me to no end…. Please help. -

(2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM.You are posting to the wrong support forum because there is no FTPccess and no blogger installed plugin capability any wordpress.COm hosted blogs.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. As you are referring to a site that is not hosted here, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.
