I saved an entry for my blog under ‘save draft’ and now I can’t figure out how to retrieve it.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’m not able to find any draft posts for the site: bronxtojapan.wordpress.com, but in the future you can find them by going to Posts > All Posts in your Dashboard. It will be under Drafts. Currently, there aren’t any drafts, so that link will not be there.
Let me know if you have any questions with this!

Today I tried to post a text with a photo from my word doc and only the text showed on my post. What do I have to do to get text and photos on the same post?
-
Please do not copy and paste from Microsoft Word. There has been a change in the way the WordPress.com editor reads in content that is pasted from Microsoft Word. The code generated by Word, and other rich text editors, was causing conflicts with the code at WordPress.com. This is because the code generated by Word doesn’t take pre-existing website code into consideration. The formatting is now striped when you copy in content from Word in order to prevent these types of conflicts in the code. This may be why the image did not appear. Formatting should be done on the WordPress.com editor–not inside Microsoft Word. If you want to continue to use Microsoft Word to write content, keep it very simple and then add the formatting in the WordPress.com editor later.
An alternative would be to use a desktop application such as Windows Live Writer. It will allow you to blog offline and is a much better alternative to using rich text editors to compose posts.

As for the image please upload the image directly into your Media > Library page and add it to your post.

Thank you for your advice. I have another problem.
I wanted all my entries on one blog site. But inadvertently I created a second site. My main one has the URL “https://bronxtojapan.files.wordpress.com.” The other one, which I would like to incorporate (consolidate) in the first is “https://bronxtojapan.com – The Bronx Boy and The Grass Flute Zen Master”
I want to put the entry from the second one as part of the first one but am afraid of erasing the blog before I transfer the entry.
What can I do? -
Hi there,
What you can do is go to: https://bronxtojapan.wordpress.com/wp-admin and then Export your posts by going to Tools > Export. Then go to https://bronxtojapandotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and Import the file you just exported. Then the posts should be added to your current site.
Let me know if you have any questions with this!
-
Couldn’t do it. I did okay on the export, but when I went to import something didn’t work. Are you sure it is https://bronxtojapan.com.wordpress.com/wp-admin?
-
You stated that you main one was bronxtojapan.wordpress.com:
My main one has the URL “https://bronxtojapan.files.wordpress.com
So you should export from there and import into:
https://bronxtojapandotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/
I’m not seeing any import attempts on this blog. Can you please import by going to Tools > Import?
Let me know if you run into any trouble!
-
I’m given enough information to get to EXPORT but then I’m asked to do things that weren’t in your instructions. For example what’s an XML?
I really have to be led by the hand through the process. -
I’m confused again. Shouldn’t I be exporting from the URL I want to more and importing it into my main URL?
-
You should have exported an XML file. I’m confused as to where you are lost. If you exported the posts correctly, you should have downloaded an XML file which would then be imported.
There are exact instructions in the support guides I provided you, but this may be more clear:
1) Go to: https://bronxtojapan.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php?page=export-choices
2) Click Export
3) Select Posts
4) Hit Download Export File
5) Remember where you saved the file
6) Go to: https://bronxtojapandotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php
7) Click on WordPress
8) Click Choose File
9) Select the XML file you just downloaded.
10) Click Upload file and ImportThen you should be set.
-
When I do what you say, I am asked to choose a WPR (.xml) file to upload and import. I have no idea what that means or where to put it before I click on upload.
-
So in step 4) that I provided you, where did you save the file? That’s where your XML file is located.
-
-
That is your export file. That is where all your posts lie. If you import that all the posts from your previous site will go into the site you are importing into.
-
I’m sorry I’m so thick, Grace, but I didn’t see any place where they asked where to save my export.
I think I have to start again.
The blog I want to export has “bronxtojapan –The Bronx Boy and the Grass Flute Zen Master” in the top left corner next to the blue W. Is that my URL?? -
Is this the site you want to take your posts from?
https://bronxtojapan.wordpress.com/
And do you want to put those posts into this site? :
-
I’d like to know what the comment below is referring to. Does it mean I shouldn’t use a staff members name when asking a clarification of that person’s instructions? I just want to be clear about this.
-
I guess I’m not sure. I’m looking at the site I want to export. I says “bronxtojapan–The Bronx Boy and the Grass Flute Zen Master” in the upper right address box next to the blue W. Does that mean it is the site? If so, that’s the site I want to take the post from. I want to put that post on https://bronxtojapan.wordpress.com–bronx to japan”
I don’t know how I posted “The Bronx Boy and the Grass Flute Zen Master” on a different site, but I evidently did.
How can I tell the name of the site? I assumed it was in the box on the upper right with the blue W next to it. -
I’m very confused as to what you are looking for. Can you take a look at the links I provided you here and tell me if this is what you want:
Is this the site you want to take your posts from?
https://bronxtojapan.wordpress.com/
And do you want to put those posts into this site? :
I just need to know that.
Just a note that all WordPress.com sites have the blue W logo as the W logo stands for WordPress.com.
You can tell sites by the actual URL. So, please just look at the links that I provided you above and tell me if that is what you want.
