  Hi, we had an incident where pages where modified and deleted fromour website… I would like to know if you can perhaps with resotring my website from the 18th of Jan 2023 settings and pages. We dont have a back up as we didnt think this would happen in our naivety

  Hi there!

  To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

  1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
  2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
  3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

  Since your site is not hosted with us, we have no special access to nor would we have any sort of backup for your site. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

  We dont have a back up as we didnt think this would happen in our naivety

  If you did not have a backup, you would need to contact your hosting provider as soon as possible and hopefully they have a backup from before those changes were made. If not, I’m afraid you will need to recreate the content that was deleted.

  Since it looks like you’re using the Jetpack plugin, they do offer different backup solutions that you can purchase that will prevent this problem should it happen in the future.
