I seem to have duplicate wp websites

    Hi, I created a ‘.wordpress.com’ page to play around, then created my ‘real’ account in hostgator, using the same url minus the wordpress part.

    And now the ‘.wordpress’ page seems to be interfering with my admin login to my real website. Is there a way to cancel and delete the free .wordpress website?

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    Hi @marksummerslmft, you certainly can remove the free site, but it shouldn’t be interfering with your separate installation at all. If it is, that may indicate your site didn’t fully transfer.

    Given that:

    – Here are the steps we recommend for exporting the site into a new installation:

    – Here’s how you can delete the site:
    https://wordpress.com/support/delete-site/

    – Or, if you just want to make your marksummerslmft.wordpress.com site work with a domain, we do offer full-fledged, managed hosting here. You don’t have to run your own copy of WordPress with another host unless you’re up for that:
