I set up domain mapping but, I think that I actually need to use wordpress.org.

I’m really confused. I’m setting up WordPress.org on Hostgator for this domain. But, I set up domain mapping here on wordpress.com. I’m having trouble installing the theme Magnescent. So, I thought that it might need to be done on WordPress.org. I see your explanation of differences but, which one do i need to get this theme working?

You will need to use your WordPress.org install in order to upload any themes – we don’t allow the uploading of any custom themes on WordPress.com.

O.k. so did I mess up by setting up domain mapping on wordpress.com? Therefore, I do not need that service…correct?
-
Yes, you don’t need the domain mapping upgrade if you have a self-hosted WordPress.org install. Would you like me to remove it and refund your money?
-
Absolutely!! If you could do that, that would be great!! Thank you so much!! I’m setting on the wordpress.org right now. Thanks again for your promptness in reply!!

No problem – I have cancelled the domain mapping and refunded your $12.
Have fun blogging! :)
