Yes you do appear on Google: http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=site:http://softcircuit.wordpress.com/&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
You have only one post up, what do you really expect?? Google comes back over and over and sees the same post again and again. They then cut down on the frequency that they look at your blog because they think it might be dead.
Post stuff regularly and make sure it is original content and you will start showing up in the search engines more.

One other thing to remember is that google clears its indexes at regular intervals and reassesses page rank. If you don’t post regularly, page rank goes down, and then you get buried in the clutter back on page 1,075,673.

You MUST be joking. The internet only rewards people who feed it. Give to get. If you want something from Google, give Google something, namely useful, original posts with a lot of links to legitimate sites in them.

I concur with everything said here.
Thing is, courtcircuit, you do, as raincoaster says, have to work at it. Take my blog as an example. It started in mid April last year, and I try to post every day – sometimes two or three times a day – usually original content, sometimes follow-ups to previous posts or answers to questions.
It took a couple of months for my blog to appear in Google at all, but about six months before I reached second place in a blog-name search, and I’ve pretty much stayed there. But it took until December for my posts to start topping subject searches in Google and other search engines (or, at least, that’s when I became aware of it).
So, as you can see, it takes a lot of work to gain, and hopefully hold, a position in Google’s rankings – 400 posts as of today, and other bloggers post a lot more than that, though I feel that quality is more important than quantity – I almost never post for the sake of posting. And you can never tell what will generate interest – posts you sweat blood over can languish almost unread, while something that almost writes itself will be huge. The thing is, though, to keep writing.

Oops – “I almost never post for the sake of posting” should read “I almost never post purely for the sake of posting something.”
