    Is there a way I can limit the emails I receive only to the first new one posted by the blog owner, and not receive emails containing comments other readers have made on the subject? I’m finding it annoying to have to read through a sequence of messages included in the ‘thread’. Thanks!

    Looks like you are subscribing to comments by selecting Notify me of new comments via email checkbox while commenting.

    So I suggest you not subscribe to comments while posting your comment.

    You can unsubscribe from already subscribed comments from this page: https://subscribe.wordpress.com/?option=comments
    Just click on the Unsubscribe link corresponding to posts your want to unsubscribe from.
