I suggest you replace the Mercator projection by another one

  Hi,
  I suggest that you replace the Mercator projection used in the map on http://wordpress.com/#!/my-stats/ by another projection because the Mercator projection is an instance of Euro-centrism. See my article http://asifoscope.org/2013/01/07/maps/ for the reasons why I think so.

  As you think this might be worthy of suggesting to Staff I have tagged this thread so it is moved to the Ideas Forum for you.

  The function that we bloggers are focused on is how many visitors from each country visit our blogs. I sincerely doubt that most of the 58 million of us care which map projection used or indeed if a map is presented there at all, as we aren’t using it to calculate longitudes and latitudes for navigation purposes. All we want to have is the numbers.
