I think I deleted my sidebar – how do I get it back?

When I was “playing” with the software to learn it, I think I deleted the sidebar. Now I’ve added widgets which say they’re in the sidebar, but they don’t show up. Can I get my sidebar back without deleting everything and reloading the theme?

You are using the Kelly theme. This does not support the sidebar on the left and right . It has footer Sidebars, to understand it better you can browse through this link

Thanks for the reply. The theme is actually Twenty seventeen and it did have a side bar originally. Any way to restore it?

You can quickly and easily change themes to another one found here http://wordpress.com/themes/
and no data will be lost or negatively affected by the change. You can switch to the Twenty Seventeen theme.Provided you are logged in as Admin under the same username account that registered the blog go to Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and browse themes until you find one you like and click “activate” or type in the name of the theme you want to use and
click the “activate” link when it appears.After you change your theme all you need to do is go here Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets > Inactive Widgets and re-install them where you want them to appear. The widget contents and settings will be the same as they were prior to changing themes.

@kelleypom Are you talking about https://kelleypom.wordpress.com or a different site? To the best of my knowledge the twenty seventeen theme isn’t yet available at WordPress.com. If you’re talking about a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software you need to ask https://wordpress.org/support/

The site I’m trying to fix is SoFreakingFrench.com. I tried switching to a new theme, deleting the Twenty Seventeen theme and then re-installing it but still no sidebar.
Anything you can suggest?
