I thought wp.org was free?

  build the site, already have a domain. Chose ‘use my domain’ and it still says you have to pay more and I get this ‘coming soon’ message? am I missing something?

  It looks like you’re confusing wp.org (free open-source software) with wp.com (hosting platform).
