I transferred my domain to godaddy.. Why am I still being charged and how can I stop getting charged

  I transferred my domain to godaddy. My domain (haloodiefoodie.com) was coming to an end so thats why I transferred it. However, I was charged for it after the transfer without any warning. Why was I charged and can I please get a refund?
