HELP!! I was trying to update my website from a mom blog to a language blog and so I purchased a domain and came in WP to change the URL of my site. I didn’t realize that I had already activated the domain with a website on Squarespace and so when I entered the URL here on my WP site I essentially got locked out of my website. Can you please help me to revert the URL back to motheroffawn.com? The URL ‘www.audreynoitv.com’ is already attached to a website that I had not published. Please and thank you!!!!

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there:

To avoid confusion, there are three different “WordPress” at play here:

    1. The free, open-source WordPress software which powers your website.
    2. WordPress.org which is the open-source project that works on the WordPress software and where you can get the software for free to use on your own hosting provider.
    3. WordPress.com which is a managed hosting provider of the WordPress software and with whom you’re contacting now.

Since your site motheroffawn.com is not hosted with us, we’re limited in what we can help with and advise. But I can get you pointed in the right direction to get help.

Changing your site URL name in your WordPress settings without first changing the domain at your hosting provider will cause the 404 error you’re seeing now. You should reach out to your host Bluehost for help with this. Since they’re hosting your site’s files, they also have access to those files and are the best ones to help you undo this problem. They can also help you update your domain if you still want to change that as well.

If you have trouble in the future, you will need to reach out to your hosting provider or the WordPress.org community for guidance:

    I hope that helps!
