I tried to claim a wordpress.com name and it auto-logged me into my old account.

This name is for a business. I had no idea it would auto log me in and now it is registered to this account. I have ‘deleted’ it and now it shows it as unavailable, but I can’t re-claim it for the right account. it doesn’t show up in the list of options any more. Do I have to wait for it to become available again?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I do not know which username account and which URL your are referring to. That said, I do know that deleted WordPress.COM blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made except for the one stated at http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/.
You can register another .wordpress.com URL and then purchase an upgrade plan so you can map to an existing domain.
Register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Purchase a domain mapping upgrade knowing it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.
