I try to edit a gallery, but I cannot see it in visual mode so how to edit?
-
hi
I’m trying to insert a gallery; and it doesn’t really matter which style.
when I want to edit an existing gallery the gallery does not display in edit mode.. so I cannot edit it.
if I try to make a new page with a new gallery, either the gallery does not display, if it displays it does not accept more than 9 photos in each gallery… then again I can; if it displays only make one gallery at a page..?
it seems like it is working and then not..?
a few times I have been able to see the gallery in text mode but not in visual mode.. and if I preview I can see the gallery but if I cannot see it in visual mode in edit, how can I edit?something is very wrong..
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
Can you give me a link to the post you’re having trouble with? Are you trying to edit the gallery in the Visual editor or the Text editor?
There is a known bug about the editor mode not displaying the gallery in the style chosen. Is this the main issue you’re having?
-
Hi!
yes here is the link: http://globetrotterinawheelchair.com/i-like/
I’m trying to edit in the Visual editor.
My main issue is that I can’t see the gallery in Visual editor but only in Text editor.
Then it is hard to edit the gallery. -
Okay! I see now. Did you add the gallery through the Visual editor? Or enter the code straight into the Text editor?
Can you try removing the gallery and adding it through the Visual editor following these directions?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/#adding-a-gallery-or-slideshow

I added the gallery in Visual mode..
Now I deleted the gallery and I can not add a new gallery in Visual mode…?
-
I tried again..
Now I could add the gallery in Visual mode.
But once again I can only see it in Text edit and not in Visual edit..?
So it means next time I need to add some photos to the (now existing) gallery I need to delete it and start all over again? -
Thank you so much for doing that! It looks like there’s a bug in relation to one of the images you’re including in the Gallery that’s causing an issue with the editor.
Our team is currently working on fixing this issue and I’ll let you know as soon as it’s resolved. In the meantime, if you remove this image from your Gallery, everything seems to work correctly:
https://globetrotterinawheelchair.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post.php?post=55&action=edit
It’s ID is # 55 if you’d like to remove it through the Text editor.
I’ll keep you updated about this issue! And thank you so much for reporting it!
Let me know if I can help with anything else.

great.. thank you so much Shawna :) it’s working!!
I deleted #55 and everything is back to normal. I wonder what’s wrong with #55?… I have another question if you can help..
When I’m logged at globetrotterinawheelchair.com – there’s an eye with a line through the eye at the top bar indicating: This blog is hidden from search engines.
then I go to my reading preferences and here the ‘Allow search engines to index this site’ is marked, because of course I allow search engines to index this site. I have marked saved unmarked saved and done it several times and the eye with the line through the eye is still there…
why?actually… I have another question..
you cannot make a border around your photos anymore – and make it nice with self decided space between text and photos anymore..
why? -
I’m not currently seeing the privacy mark on your site. Can you check again real quick and let me know if you see it still?
There were some recent changes to the Visual and Image Editor as explained here:
The option to edit the border value has been removed. You can remove or add the border by inserting style=”border=0px;” in the HTML as shown here:
<img class="alignleft size-large wp-image-15039" style="border:0px;" src="URL" alt="Featured Image -- 15038" width="584" height="389" />Just adjust the number 0 to how thick you want the border to be. To be clear, you will need to adjust the image code in the Text Editor. This is explained here:
You can do the same for adding margins to your images with “margin:0px;” like this:
<img class="alignleft size-large wp-image-15039" style="border:0px; margin:0px;" src="URL" alt="Featured Image -- 15038" width="584" height="389" />You can read more about how to format the margin settings here:
https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/padding
Let me know if you have any additional questions!

the eye with the line is gone – I checked yesterday and it was still there but today it’s gone..!
thanks for the update on borders and margins..!

Hi there!
Sorry for the long delay! We’ve corrected the issue that caused your image to be missing some data and break. However, since your image is missing data, you won’t be able to edit it. You can add it back to your gallery without at error now though.
You may want to re-upload the image so you can make edits, like changing the size.
Let me know if I can help with anything else! :)

hi !
thank you..!
well, I actually have a problem with my website when it’s shown on a smartphone.
the front page/ home is only visible half with – and it’s only a problem with the front page..:) thanks
-
I’m not quite sure what happened here! I changed a couple of settings, and then changed them back and everything seems to have reset itself so it’s displaying correctly now.
Let me know if you see that happen again and I’ll look into it! :)
-
hmmm, strange..? on my iPhone 5 nothing has changed. It’s still narrow at front page. But at my husbands LG G2 the page is now fine horizontal but still not vertical..
:)
-
Hrmm.. You’re right its looking wonky again :( I swear it looked fine for a few minutes there..
I’ll do some testing and check your settings again. I’ll let you know what I find!

Alright! I got it fixed. For some reason a couple of the ‘space’ characters on the last line of your PTU post got encoded incorrectly. And so the line wasn’t being broken properly on the smaller screen. I removed those incorrect characters and you should be all set now.
If something like this happens in the future, and you see a line of text extending further than it should on your phone, open that post in your Text editor and look for places that say
and remove them. Just replace the ‘space’s that should have been there.Let me know if I can help with anything else! :)

oh I completely forgot… THANKS a lot for your help Shawna :))
I really appreciated it..!! -
