I unlinked my old site to my wordpress account and can’t link it back because the server dies everytime I try to bring it back up. I have unpaid ads there. Will I still get paid for that?

I tried to summarize my problem for the title, but the long story is that I switched to a vps from a shared hosting account.

I just imported my posts from my old site and basically rebuilt everything in the new server.

When I tried linking to wordpress, I realized it was now considered a new site despite being on the same domain.

I was able to link the new site to wordpress just fine, but the problem was that the wordpress desktop application couldn’t differentiate between the old and the new site and pressing on either of them just led to the old site, so I couldn’t post from the desktop app or monitor stats. A minor issue, but I wanted to fix it.

I then decided to unlink the older site before realizing that I still had unpaid ads there.

Will I still get paid for those ads? Alternatively, is there a way to move my history and wordads application to the new site?

I don’t know how to access the shared host account without the domain name, and when i tried bringing it back up, it got drowned and I couldn’t do anything in the wp-admin page.

    My site is: Jigglypuffsdiary.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

So, the new site is Jigglypuffsdiary.com. What is the domain URL of the old site? I want to look up the wordad status for that site and see how we need to handle this issue moving forward.

    Let me know, thanks!

There’s no other domain. They’re both Jigglypuffsdiary.com. All I did was change servers.

I can’t point Jigglypuffsdiary.com back to the old server because it will just hit a resource limit and be unable to do anything. And accessing it by the server’s ip address doesn’t seem to work since it’s on a shared host.

What I could do is register another domain and link it to the old server to make it accessible again, but then would this affect the pending wordads payments?

Alternatively, I do have access to the cpanel still. Is there something I could do there to resolve my problems?

Hi, I contacted my webhost’s support, and it seems they can just block everyone else through the .htaccess file so my site won’t be crippled by visitors when I try to reconnect it to my account.

The thing is they need to know the ip address for the Jetpack servers or the necessary servers so that they can permit them access too.

Could I get these IP addresses?

  • Hi there,

Looks like that by reconnecting your site you ended up with a brand new ID and that’s the reason you cannot see your WordAds earnings. To fix it you need to re-connect by following these instructions:

    Jetpack

If this doesn’t work or you have more questions, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help!

    Hi fstat,

    Sadly, it didn’t work.

Could I get the ip addresses to the jetpack servers instead?

I want to try reconnecting from the old server, but I need to whitelist the ip addresses of the Jetpack servers while blacklisting everyone else’s, or I won’t be able to do anything on the old server.

  • Sure! Here are the IP addresses:

    192.0.78.24

    192.0.78.25
