I updated to 4.8 and now I can't see my website (but in Admin I can)?

I have avoided updating ot the recent version. I finally thought I should update. I did. Now, if I go to view my website home page, I have a blank page. If I try to do anything from that home page, I get an error that the website can’t do that now. If I go into WordPress as an administrator, then I can see everything. I tried to figure this out and now I have someone else’s website linked to me!? I thought WordPress was supposed to make this easy. It’s not. I can’t get help from the Forum, because I can’t sign in with any username and/or password I have. I thought that the previous administrator had automatic backups, but she didn’t. I did backup after this fiasco, so I am thinking that maybe I need to re-create the website and use the backup. But I am freaked out now about losing everything. I need a real person to talk to .. the forums have not addressed this. Or maybe they have. But since I am not that tech-savvy, most of what is there is absolute nonsense to me. I have wasted over 3 hours now. All I wanted to do was send out three new posts. If I can’t figure this out and I have to start over, I am going to use a different site. WordPress has not been helpful, user-friendly or convenient. It’s been a nightmare.

OMG!! It listed the WRONG website!!! That’s the other one that I’ve been linked to. My website is altagirlscouts.org ..WTH?? I am so confused and unhappy with the whole thing.

aisugirlscouts.wordpress.com shows because you’re asking in the WordPress.com support forum. Staff here have no access to self-hosted sites using the WordPress.org software. altagirlscouts.org is hosted by GoDaddy/BlueHost?? so you’ll need to visit (and set up log in details) at: https://wordpress.org/support/

my home page doesnt load all the way since i upgraded to 4.8 and my media library dosent work either.

That site is not on wordpress.COM servers. This is wordpress.COM support. We do not provide support for local installs of wordpress.ORG software, or for wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, linked to wordpress.COM accounts with the Jetpack plugin so they display on the My Sites wordpress.com account page. Note that at least 30% of those who post here to WordPress.COM support daily are posting to wrong support forum and we do not provide WordPress.ORG support. WordPress.ORG support questions are not the same.

@kkmassey Is the site you have problems with kkmasseyphoto.com ?? As @timethief says here at WordPress.com staff have no access to your self-hosted site even if you do shout. You need to ask https://wordpress.org/support/
