I used to copy the link directly from Goodreads after reviewing a book then post my review directly to my WordPress blog. It would show how many stars I gave the book, the book cover, and other details contained on Goodreads’ site.
This made it extremely helpful for me so I did not have to copy, paste, or as is the case now, rewrite the whole thing over. I do not like the new block settings. I am unable to copy and paste anything I write from one site to another, include Word. The only way I have been able to find a way around this is to take a screenshot of my reviews and then post them to my blog, which, I may add, looks horrible. Why did you change it and how can I simply copy my reviews from Goodreads(or any other site I review books), and post them into WordPress without it being a huge, huge, huge hassle?
At this point, after reading through the support forms and all the help FAQs, I am looking for another site to blog. I may even sign up with them for their paid blog services. I was thinking of doing this with WordPress but after the recent changes with the blocks and now I cannot use the site without a huge amount of hassle, why bother?
I don’t want a widget or whatever it is called. I do not need it. Anyone have any suggestions on how to copy and paste my reviews or should I bow out from WordPress?

Hi there,
The Classic Editor is still available in WP Admin. You can paste into there. If you go to WP Admin > Pages, find the page you want to edit, put your cursor over the page, an option called ‘Classic Editor’ will appear. The same goes for posts.

Hi there,

Can you tell me what site you’re working on?
Copy-past in the block editor works exactly the same as in the classic editor, and you should definitely be able to copy content in from any other source. Can you check if it makes any difference to use another browser?
But it has never been possible to embed a Goodreads review on WordPress.com simply by pasting a link, as Goodreads does not support oEmbed, which would be necessary for this to work.
Can you give a link to an old post on your site where you have a review from Goodreads visible like this so I can take a look at exactly what you did there?
