I want a blog
-
Hey there, I want a blog, there hasn’t been any post on it since 2005 and the only post is a Welcome to wordpress entry anyway, though there are two links on the sidebar which I think makes this a spam blog. Is there anything I can do to get this?
-
unless you can find out who’s actually running it, and get them to give you access, no.
wp.com doesn’t tamper with people’s accounts no matter how old/unused they are.

Adam is right.
You can, however, always ask the blog owner if they would be willing to give you the blog. Post a comment on the blog and see what happens. If they’re game, they’d made you an Admin. You’d then login, delete them as an Admin and you’d be good to go as the sole owner.

I was afraid of that, considering I doubt I will get any reply at all, I think it was made for spam.
-
It if is a Spam blog and gets deleted for a TOS violation, I believe that blog address is gone forever.
It seems your best and only bet, samureye, may be to try to get in touch with the blog owner to see if you can save the address if it’s important to you.

Does Blogger reuse old, deleted names? I think I heard this the other day. Damn annoying.
-
Blogger, as I understand it, does recycle blog names!
They instruct you if you use a a domain name pointer to turn around and reclaim your old Blogger address because it immediately goes back into the availability pile one you point away from it using a DNS change or a CNAME entry.
-
yeah, blogger definately changes CNAME records on the fly.
i think that wp.com will do the same once everyone changes their email address. -
Yeah, I have 2 blogger accounts and wanted a blog on another account, I had to delete the blog on one account and register it with the other. I can try contacting, but I doubt it will work. Oh well.
