I want a music player that will play a selection of songs

I would like a music player (ideally as a sidebar widget) that will play a selection of songs. Like an MP3 player where I can link several songs and a visitor can choose which to play, or to play all.
I’ve read the support entries re: upgrading to allow me to upload mp3’s, but it’s not within my means right now to upgrade.

but the solutions offered here are out of date and no longer are available.I have the music hosted on another site where I can get the individual song links, and I’m able to embed a single song into a post, but I want a player with all the songs that suit my blog.
Do I have any options? Are there any alternative audio players that I can write in? I’ve spent nearly 9 hours reading and searching, and I really hope that it isn’t in vain!

Using the audio shortcode, you can add a player for any song, no matter where on the web it’s located. This will work in any theme. You can read more about how to use the audio shortcode here:

timethief – thanks for the response, I’ve read a lot of your posts regarding this, as well as those by Panos. I was hoping for something more along the line of the alternative players he discussed in one post he wrote (that I put a link to in my op).
I wasn’t terribly impressed by audiomack or soundcloud (it flagged a song that I WROTE as another song entirely, and removed it.)
WordPress does allow you to run audio on a blog if the song is hosted elsewhere via shortcode. This I’ve done, but like I said in my op, I was hoping for something more like a player where I could link several songs into it.
