Plugins are not allowed on a wordpress.com blog. If you want plugins you will have to self-host.

Alternatively you can use a Chess game widget for WordPress.com. -
@hnsaifi has answered your question perfectly. Most plug-ins aren’t allowed but if you use the gigya src method most media players and clocks, etc will work. Although, this will work you won’t be able to put this in a sidebar widget. It would only work within a blog post or a page.
Just copy the shortcode and paste within a blog post.
