  Hi i am kinjal i have joined just today and i am new for adding blog i always get to domain to add and i need to pay them so if i dont want to pay and have my blog where i can share my thoughts, story and all is that possible here as i know it is. please help me for it as i need to know about it soon.

  If you click the “Want your own domain?” link below that, it will be an additional $17 since you’re asking to also register and map a domain along with your free blog.

  If you accidentally click that link, just click the “No thanks, I prefer to use myname.wordpress.com for free” link that replaced it to go back.

  You do not need your own custom domain. If you just go for the free option your URL will be WhateverYouChoose.wordpress.com instead of WhateverYouChoose.com, but you can start blogging right away.

  If you are serious blogging, if you intend to use a blog in any commercial way and/or to create a professional reputation, then whether or not you decide to have a free hosted blog at wordpress.com as you intend to hire a web host and self host a wordpress.org blog later on, I recommend purchasing a domain as early as possible.

  Some bloggers start out on free hosted blog platforms like wordpress.com or blogspot (Blogger) on a test basis. They plan to establish traffic, purchase a domain and then to switch over to paid hosting. They are happy about their PageRank and they purchase a domain name.
