Gone is Gone, no going back, you could have set it private and kept everyone out but kept the content, or you could have exported the blog and kept the backup.
This is why WordPress.com has so many steps and “are you really sure” and even an email if I remember correctly from the blog I deleted.

Allow me to by crystal clear. There is no technical issue we Volunteers can help you with. We do not provide emotional support. Once deleted and blog is gone forever and the URL cannot be recycled. This is not a matter that Volunteers have any role to play in at all and this is not a matter for the forum.
