I want my domain to be hosted again by WordPress

    I originally bought and set up my custom domain name (hgrobert.com) via WordPress. However, a few months ago I changed its host to iwantmyname.com.

    What I need help with: I would need assistance to have my custom domain (hgrobert.com) hosted by WordPress again because I want delete my iwantmyname.com account and have my website address (hgrobert.com) not just pointed to but hosted by WordPress as well.

    Under my upgrades it still says I have 5 months before my custom domain (hgrobert.com) expires, but as I said I’d like to close up the iwantmyname.com domain registrar account and bring back again my custom domain here fully again so I can manage everything from WordPress.

    Please assist me step by step with this process. I don’t know what to do and don’t understand the DNS editing.

    Hi there,

    Although domains can be registered here at WordPress.com, we don’t accept incoming domain transfers. This means that because your domain is now registered with a different domain registrar, you will need to keep it registered there. If you no longer want to use that specific domain registrar, you are welcome to transfer it to a different registrar. However, you won’t be able to transfer the domain registration back to WordPress.com.

    Thanks for your response. Sad to hear that because I did register and buy it here at WordPress.com and a few months ago you guys assisted me to transfer it there.

    I do have questions.

    1, Under “my upgrades” it still says that my domain (hgrobert.com) is registered with WordPress and this upgrade will expire in 5 months.
    It costs 18 dollars, so since it is now registered with iwantmyname.com and you can’t help bring it back even though it says still it is registered here, then I don’t have to renew this upgrade in order to continue to use it right?

    2, Is there anything else I need to know in order to keep my custom domain working with my wordpress blog after february when it expires?

    3, Speaking of upgrades, I have several upgrades that I purchased at different times, but I was wondering if you have a bundle where I could save money and pay for those once a year? (You guys used to have something for 100 dollars that included a few things)
    If yes then what is the time to buy one of these because things expire at different times?

    Thanks for pointing this out! Since you transferred the domain to another registrar, you don’t need the domain registration upgrade. However, you do need a domain mapping upgrade ($13/year) to keep using the domain here at WordPress.com. I swapped out the upgrades on your account, so now you can renew the domain mapping when it comes time for that in February.
