I want my new page to have features like home page
-
Hello bloggers, i’m stuck. my blog is tanzaniageologists.wordpress.com. I have add a new page named geology where i want to post various geology topics which my readers will be able to visit and choose what to read. So, with this case I think the page must have features like home but i don’t know how to set.please help.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The page you have added is a static page. A static page is like a post – like one post: you cannot publish posts there. What you need is assign the relevant posts to a “Geology” category, and add the Categories widget to your sidebar.
(If you want that category as a header tab instead of a sidebar tab, you can do it, but try the Categories widget first.)

You’re welcome.
PS You also need to think of which category would do for many of your posts, create that category, and set it as your default category under Settings>Writing; because at the moment you have probably deleted the default “Uncategorized” category, and the system adds a pointless category “1” to your posts.

Panos,
How will i set the category type, and do you mean adding category widget will make my geology page same as home page (not static again?). -
“Geology” should be a post category, not the title of the widget itself (widget should be titled “Topics” or something like that).
When you go to Posts > Add New to create a new post, you should see a “Categories” module next to or below the main edit box: that’s where you select an existing category or add a new one for your post; same thing to change the category of an already published post (under Posts > Edit). Categories assigned to published posts will show up in the Categories widget (like “1” does now).
