All blogs here are provided free of charge by WordPress.com and are free hosted. All upgrades are found here and none include paying for hosting as it’s free here. If you want to purchase your own domain name then your purchase a domain mapping upgrade see here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

My site was recently tranfered to me. It’s set to expire soon. I am trying to renew, but it’s not allowing me to do so. I’ve gone through the tutorials.

Bottom line: you want to renew a domain that you did not originally purchase. Is that correct?

I don’t know if the upgrades also come with a transferred blog – you will probably need to get the original account to transfer the upgrades – that can be done with the original account logging in here and very specifically spells out which upgrades they want transferred to which account –

The upgrade is still owned by the user who purchased it.
That user will need to renew it, or post here requesting that the upgrade be transferred to you.

One of my students setup this site. I would like to continue it. I am not computer literate. I’ve tried to take ownership, and pay before it expires on Nov. 2. I don’t seem to be able to do it.
