I want some blogs to appear only in their categories, not on first page.

I have a blog site you can see at http://www.thespiritmaven.com. The first page displays all the posts, even the post that was intended only for a category called “extra category.” I want it to show only when the visitor clicks on “extra category.”

Right now I have two posting categories (and several link categories). The two post categories are called “general” and “extra category.” The “general” category is the default. When I click on “general” I see only those posts. When I click on “extra category” I see only the post I intended for the extra category. So far so good. The problem I have is that I don’t want any posts from “extra category” to show on the first page.

Your suggestions would be most helpful.

This support forum is ONLY for those who have freehosted wordpress.COM blogs.
The site you have posted the link to is not a wordpress.COM blog.
The correct support forum for those who are self hosting wordpress.ORG software is here http://wordpress.org/support/
To understand the differences between the two please read the sticky post at the head of this forum. Here’s the link https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/please-read-me-first-before-posting?replies=1

Thank you for directing me to information that clears up the confusion I have between WP.com versus org.

I spoke to my hosting site and it appears that I am indeed using WP.org even though the url has .com.
