I want to a file attachment option to my email contact form.

I am offering a narration/voice over service to my customers and I want them to have the ability to attach a file (or a few files) to their message when they email me for a quote. I don’t see any field options for this. Can I add some custom CSS or HTML to the form? Is there an option for this already?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Howdy!

We currently don’t support adding a file attachment to contact forms through WordPress.com. It’s a known request with our development team, but we don’t have a feasible solution to add the feature right now.

I’ve added your feature request to that idea though so the developers are aware users continue to request it. :)

As a workaround, would you consider a text field with instructions for users to enter a Google Drive, or another cloud document provider’s, sharing URL?

    Best,

Well the only idea I came up with is that the users can paste their script into a text box. Hopefully there isn’t a character limit on those.

Thanks for the reply anyways. Hopefully something like that is implemented in the future.

We don’t add a character limit by default to a field with the type “textarea.”

So if everything you’re receiving is in plain text, that will work just fine. :)
