I want to add a chat room to my blog.

  I would like to have a private chat room on my site where members can chat about our upcoming meetings, let us know what they are bringing to the dinner, etc. Is there a widget I can add that will do this?

  Hi! There isn’t a private chat room widget, but my best suggestion is to do the following:

  1. Create a new (separate) blog from My Blogs on the WordPress.com home page
  2. Set the blog to Private in Reading Settings
  3. Activate the P2 theme in Appearance -> Themes
  4. Invite members in Users -> Invite New to view or be an author in your private blog

  Once you have that private blog setup, you can create a custom menu in Appearance -> Menus, then add a custom link to that private blog so members can get to it from your public site.
