Hi there! Since your site was custom-built, the easiest way to add images to category and brand pages without touching code is to check if your developer included a ‘Thumbnail’ or ‘Image’ field directly on the category edit screen. You can find this by going to Posts > Categories (or Products > Categories if you are using WooCommerce) and clicking ‘Edit’ on a specific category. If you see an ‘Upload/Add image’ button there, simply upload your hero image and save; many modern themes are coded to automatically display that image at the top of the page. If that field exists but the image doesn’t show up on your site, or if the field is missing entirely, you might need to use a plugin like ‘Category Featured Image’ to add this functionality back in. Another simple ‘no-code’ workaround is to use the Category Description box; you can click ‘Add Media’ inside that text editor to insert an image at the top, which most themes will then display as a hero image by default.
