I want to add several tags to a page
-
I wonder if one can tag a blog page, just like you would add tags to a post? I don’t find the way to do it – I could try a more complicated option by adding a specific blog post with a link to that page an then add all the tags I want to that post but that seems a unlogical way to me.
In the ‘help info’ I red already about ‘slugs’ but that’s not quite the same – at least, not when I understand it correctly. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. First I’d like to understand the goal. When a user clicks on a tag, say ‘apport’ and it opens the summary page (https://hovawart5.wordpress.com/tag/apport/) showing all posts tagged ‘apport’ …. you want any PAGES with that same tag to appear in the list, co-minged with posts. Yes?
If so, I think you might want to try a very handy little plugin called Page Links To by Mark Jaquith. You could create a dummy post with the same title as your page, and tag it with desired tag.
Then inside the dummy, you’ll change “Page Links To” to custom and assign the PAGE’s url there.
The dummy post gets the post title to appear in the results, but the Page Links To override will open the page you specify instead of the dummy.
Does this make sense? If I misunderstood your intention please clarify so I can better help.

@samanthainnes
Please be clear on the fact that this is wordpress.COM support. It is not WordPress.ORG support.Only sites hosted by wordpress.COM that have the Business Plan upgrade can install additional plugins.
Please read:
FTP access http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
Blogger installed plugins http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/The Business upgrade includes:
• Google analytics
• Footer Credit Options https://en.support.wordpress.com/footer-credits/
• SEO Tools https://en.support.wordpress.com/seo-tools/
• The ability to install most plugins including woocommerce and the ability to install third party themes.Read also: WordPress.com Volunteers

The answer is no, not unless you have a Business Plan upgrade that will enable you to install additional plugins.

Sorry @hovawart5 yes @timethief is correct, you need a business plan to install this plugin.
Outside of that I can’t think of another way to achieve what (I think) you are trying to do.
-
@hovawart5 But again, please let us know why you want to do this. Perhaps if we better understand the goal, we can suggest a workaround.
In general, Pages are intended for static, unchanging content like your About or Contact page. Updating static Pages that you create does not ping any feed or search engine.
However, we also have Category pages, which are pages dynamically created by the WP software to list all Posts you’ve tagged with a particular category. https://en.support.wordpress.com/category-pages/ As an example, this is a category page on your site.
https://hovawart5.wordpress.com/category/fotoverhaaltjes/You can add a tab for that Category (or Tag) to your theme’s navigation bar with the Custom Menu https://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/ or use that Custom Menu in a sidebar widget. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/custom-menu-widget/
Let us know if you have any other question or need more help.

Thanks all for your quick and extensive replies – I’ll try to explain my goal : I thought (but in the meantime I discovered I’m probably wrong) that tags also work for the SEO but from what I found in the help pages they don’t?
The fact is that I recently put my house fo sale and as I have the blog as an outlet on the internet anyway and to increase my chances I thougt it could be wise to create a special page for that (which has nothing to do with the rest of the topic of my blog) and to add different tags which might lead a search for a house to that page.
But the SEO is not interested in tags – or is it? -
Hello again, I’d set up an entirely separate site for this. https://en.support.wordpress.com/create-a-blog/#adding-a-new-site-or-blog-to-an-existing-account
You can then use the Custom Menu I linked to earlier to link your existing site to that new site.
And how fabulous! WordPressdotcom has conveniently created a great site tutorial for setting up a site to sell your house. :)

Thanks for the advice, this is certainly a good idea!
Do you have any idea how quickly such a new site might show up in google, with a reasonable ranking?
-
A new site can take 4-6 weeks normally, but I’d also go the route of verifying the site with search engines and the other suggestions on the Traffic and SEO support pages:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/seo/
https://en.support.wordpress.com/increase-your-site-traffic/I’d also add posts with photos highlighting the various rooms. Posts help keep your site pinging search engines.
