I want to advertise with Passionfruit Ads!

The biggest downfall of wordpress.com is not being able to advertise. Passionfruit ads makes advertising easy and controlled and even allows you to make some money on advertising. I’m wondering if something like this is in wordpress.com’s future or if I’m best off finding a new host that gives me that freedom?

I know that Passionfruit Ads is trying to make it possible with wordpress.com but I don’t know if there’s any chance of them being successful or if wordpress.com won’t make that change.

You can’t run ads on sites hosted on WordPress.com, but you can do so on a self-hosted WordPress website. As absurdoldbird said, if this is important to you, then that’s your best option.

E-commerce transactions via shopping carts and the like cannot be conducted on free blogs from and being free hosted by wordpress.COM

Makes me sad to have to leave WordPress.com but I suppose it’s my only option in this case. Does WordPress make it easy to export/import blog posts? I guess what I’m asking is: If I use another host, using wordpress software, is everything easily transferable?

the wordpress.org install will not containthe special in-house widgets that are only for WordPress.com users -
So much work. I wish WordPress.com would just allow ads! Haha. I’m so not tech-savvy so I’m hesitant to embark on such an endeavor with such little knowledge.
