    Hello,

Most people like to use a responsive theme so that their full site works on mobile devices. The theme you are using is responsive, meaning that it changes based on how big the available screen area is.

Jetpack also offers a mobile theme option which you might be interested in checking out.

    I hope this helps,
    Emily

WordPress.com is a turnkey operation. It is not the place to “build” any themes. All blogs wearing the same theme use the same underlying template which we bloggers cannot access and edit.

You either accept the themes as is or you purchase an annually renewable custom design upgrade, which allows you to change appearance only and not the way any theme functions. Or you hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. See here for the comparison http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

The only themes we can use on free hosted WordPress.com blogs like your blog are the themes found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ The themes are either responsive layout themes that adjust display to any device or there is a mobile theme for themes that are not responsive.

There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
    upload any third party themes,
    create child themes,
    create our own themes,
    edit templates,
    create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/

There is no upgrade you can purchase that changes that. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install.

    re: http://cprworksfl.wordpress.com/

    See here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/features/responsive-layout/

Responsive width means the layout adapts depending on the size of the device being used to view your site. When responsive width themes are viewed on mobiles sidebars appear below the posts in order to provide as much space as possible for reading.

The mobile theme is a completely different theme. When we use a responsive layout theme we go to > Appearance > Mobile and disable the mobile theme
