Cancel Auto Renew

I didn’t get any answer you–maybe the weekend. Anyway, perhaps I should be more clear. I had to renew my custom design, and wanted to use PayPal, but in order to do so, I was forced to accept Auto Renew, but the screen said that I could cancel it. But I can’t find that word using it as a search term, or find it in any of the first menus that come up on the sidebar. I hope anyone can appreciate these days a person’s reluctance to leave one’s credit card digits in storage with anyone–PayPal is the only service that has mine, and that limits my exposure (I hope!–two cards hacked in the last three months!) I also hope you appreciate that someone might also reject Auto Renew (for the same reason–kind of like leaving the back door unlocked when the neighborhood appears to be out of control). I want to be ‘in charge’ of all transactions so I can keep on eye on them before problems arise, not after. No Auto Renew.

Well, I found my own answer. In Store, My upgrades, and there it will show your renew/auto renew selections, and you can change them. Actually I had gone there before I posted, but it didn’t show any of my accounts having Auto Renew (I have two blogs) , but I thought that was a glitch, that my recent payment/’upgrade’ to auto renew hadn’t been ‘processed’ yet (I’d just renewed it when I posted this help request) and then I forgot about it and kept looking. But apparently altho the message said, when I paid with PayPal, that I would be enrolling in Auto Renew for the privilege, it didn’t happen. That’s all I can figure, unless I hallucinated that message, and that’s not very likely, not that I never hallucinate, just never messages from WordPress regarding PayPal payments. Go figure. But by the way, this scenario is not unknown on the internet. AT & T keeps trying to force me (and presumably other customers) to elect paperless billing, and I keep resisting (because my snailmail is more reliable than my internet, some of the time; I get both email and paper billing and that’s the way I like it), and every now and then an email promises that this is ‘the last’ email notice I will receive unless I agree to go totally paperless etc. etc. Never happens. So maybe this situation is like that situation. Anyhoo, I did not surrender my digits nor my control of my renewals–yet.

Thanks a ton for the follow-up. I did make certain that your changes are all set. Auto-renew will not take place…and no financial information is stored on your account. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers!
