Are you sure you are logged in under the correct username account when requesting a refund?
Do you want to use the domain URL on another site hosted elsewhere?
If you let the domain name go there is no guarantee you register it again.
WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers. The refund period for Domain Registrations and Renewals is 48 hours.
Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.
Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-upgrades/#canceling-upgrades
When you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade what do you see in these two locations please?
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades

Hi there @Pieter,
So that we are on the same page, once you decide to cancel your domain, there is no guarantee that you will be able to reacquire it in the future. Someone else could gain access to it.
If you want to keep using your domain but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.
For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/
Just wanted to give you a heads up!
Let me know if you want to proceed with the cancellation.
Thanks!

Hey there,
Not a problem! I have canceled your subscription for beerweb.org and refunded the charges back to you. It can take between 7-10 business days for the refund to reflect on your bank statement.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Take care,

Hi,
I have already received my refund on paypal. Thanks for the quick response!
Kind regards,

I just refunded the $18, so I wouldn’t think you’d receive it that quickly. But check and let me know. If that is the case, it would be a record!
