I want to cancel my account and no longer pay for wordpress monthly.

    I do not need my domain name anymore and I want to delete my wordpress account. I went with another site because I did not find wordpress easy to navigate. I know that I have already paid for my domain and can not get my money back but I need information on how to stop further charges on my account.

    WordPress.COM does not have any monthly payment plans for any upgrades. All upgrades except for guided transfer and premium theme purchases are for one year and are paid up front in full at the time of purchase.

    Refunds are time limited. WordPress.com provides a 30-day refund on all upgrades except Domain Registrations, Domain Renewals, and Guided Transfers.

    Note: It takes from 1 – 2 weeks for the refund to be received.

    Provided you are logged in under the same username account that purchased the upgrade, and you are within the allowed time frame for refunds, you can cancel and request a refund from your dashboard > Store > My Upgrades. You can also disable auto-renew there.

    I’ve disabled auto-renew for the domain so you’ll have no further charges. Do you want to use the domain madalynandalexander.com for your site running not on WordPress.com? If so I can help you point the domain there. Please let me know what service you’re using for the site.

    If you prefer to the cancel the domain, I can help you with that as well. Just please confirm you understand that canceling cannot be undone and your domain will not be available for use with other registrars and services for a long time, and perhaps will not be available again at all.

    We do not delete accounts on WordPress.com so that no one can take your username later and others will presume them to be you. It helps to keep your identity safe. You’re welcome to leave your account inactive and unsubscribe from all notification emails, though. Read more here:

    Sites and accounts are separate though. You can delete sites once they have no domains attached to them. You can also adjust your site’s privacy settings to make your private where others cannot view it:
