I want to cancel my custom domain
-
I’d like to cancel the custom domain moiracunningham.com from my wordpress account so that I can use it elsewhere.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy,
You don’t want to cancel the domain, in that case. Canceling a domain should only be done when you have no intention of using it anywhere again.
You have two options:
- Keep the domain registered at WordPress.com, but change the nameservers to point to a different service. (Change Name Servers instructions
- Transfer your domain name to a different registrar. Transfer a Domain to Another Registrar instructions
Where are you wanting to use your domain at?
Cheers!

I want to move it to dunked.com because it is easier to upload my portfolio. I think I should use the second option then, right?

Howdy,
Checking out http://help.dunked.com/customer/portal/articles/1188604-how-do-i-use-custom-domains- , dunked.com themselves can’t accept a transfer of a domain name, so your best bet is to transfer your name to a different registrar, then set it up according to dunked’s instructions.
Namecheap.com has worked well for me before. GoDaddy.com is the big fish in the domain registration waters. There are a ton of other providers as well.
In any event, you’ll be asked for pay for a year’s registration now by your new registrar. The transfer will bump the expiration date of your domain an additional year (from April 2014 to April 2015, in your case), so it doesn’t cost anything, per se, rather paying the renewal a little early.
If you have any questions or need anything else, please let me know. Cheers!

Thank you for your help! I have transferred to GoDaddy.com, and will hopefully receive approval within a week.
