I want to cancel the site

  I’ve tried to cancel the site numerous times and it says I can’t because I upgraded the domain setting. That setting is now expired (which should allow me to cancel the site now since I no longer need the domain manger) and the wordpress interface program still will not allow me to cancel the site. How do I get it to allow me to cancel the site. It’s a round robin of information and non-compliant programing.

  Help – I just want to cancel the site and even when I follow the steps provided by support, it won’t allow me to.

  Hi there,

  When you have a custom domain, we want to make sure you don’t delete a site without dealing with the domain first.

  To delete your site with a custom domain upgrade, you’ll need to do one of the following:

  – move the domain upgrade to another WordPress.com site

  – transfer the domain registration to another domain registrar

  – fully cancel the domain (you will lose the ownership of the domain and there is no guarantee you can register it again)

  After the custom domain is unlinked from the site, you can use the site deletion tool to permanently remove the site.

  Since your domain has expired, would you like me to cancel it, or would you like to renew it to use it elsewhere (including on a site not hosted by WordPress.com)? Let me know and I’ll be happy to assist you further.
