I want to change my blog name to take up another that is no longer in use

  I’m working on a blog as part of my masters degree, and the focus of the site has changed, and so the name needs to as well. The name I would like to use has been used previously, however, the site has been deleted by its user.
  Despite this, the name still comes under ‘taken’. Is there anyway I can get the blog name ‘newtocomics.wordpress.com’? I want to get everything up and running before I purchase the domain name.
