I want to change my blog URL/address back to my previous one

Hi everyone,

I made a bit mess of my WordPress. I changed my URL several times: one from marrburger.wordpress.com to annamiekera.wordpress.com to marrburgerr.wordpress.com. I want to change it now back to the second one ‘annamiekera’. Besides that I have a second blog marrburgerr2.wordpress.com which I want to change to marrburger.wordpress.com (my first blog). Because I deleted my two first blogs, but the names are used, I can’t use them anymore… Does anyone no a solution for it? They still belong to me if WordPress didn’t make them free to use, right?

From the official WordPress.com documentation:

Deleting a site permanently removes it and you’ll never be able to re-use its WordPress.com address

You can read the policy about the re-use of a WordPress.com address.

Alternatively you can register a domain name and map it to your WordPress.com blog. The domain upgrade starts at $18.00 per year and you end up with an address like http://www.example.com (without the .wordpress.com suffix)

I’m the “administrator” of two different sites, so under the same user I have two wordpress sites/blogs. The name of blog 1 was ‘marrburger2.wordpress.com’. I changed that one in ‘annamiekera2.wordpress.com’ but kept the other name. Now I want to use the old name of blog 1 for my new blog (blog 2) called ‘marrburgerr2.wordpress.com’. Do you, or anyone else, know it that’s possible?

Both blogs are active. You can switch to either one of them and start blogging.
Just visit wordpress.com, select My Sites on the top left of the page and finally on top of the left column select Switch Site.
If you want to change the title of either of your blogs (not the address) just go to Settings and the first option is the Site’s Title.

Hi, thanks for your answer. But I want to change the address of my second blog into the previous address of my first blog. I kept that one, but don’t know if I can use the old address of blog 1 for blog 2… Hope someone understands my question and has an answer!!

No, I want to keep annamiekera2.wordpress.com. I only want to change the name of my 2nd blog ‘marrburgerr2’ into the PREVIOUS name (‘marrburger2’) of my 1st blog, which I kept!

You can change the blog address to a new one:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/changing-blog-address/

I don’t know if you can change it to an existing one, like in your case.

Hi @23marrb, as long as you did not choose to permanently delete an address, you can use it for your site. You would not be able to use the change address tool, but you can export content from one address and import it into another:
en.support.wordpress.com/export
en.support.wordpress.com/import
