I want to change my domain name but I need IP address of my blog

  I want to point my domain name to my wordpress.com blog. However, according to network solutions, if I switch my DNS servers then my email will cease to work. They say that I need to obtain the IP address of my blog so that I can switch the IP address’ within Network Solutions without changing the DNS servers and thus retain a working email with network solutions.
  Thus far I have not found anything to help me online.
  How do I do this?

  Sorry no static IP address’s here – changing name servers is the only reliable way

  There are currently 6 IP addresses for 65,000,000 blogs and the IP’s are dynamic, they change based on server load and traffic, phase of the moon etc

  The person at Network Solutions is way wrong

  There is no permanent static IP address for any WordPress.com blog. All IPs are dynamic ie. ever changing. Therefore WordPress.com does not provide static IP addresses.

  OK. So they are wrong.
  If I switch the DNS to point at wordpress, then I can still point the email back to Network solutions?
  As far as the person I was talking to was concerned, the email account would become inactive if I switched the DNS servers over to wordpress.

  Yes I already read everything. I just didn’t know that it would work if I switched DNS servers over.

  If it would not work neither myself or other people that help in the forum would have given the link (and WordPress.COM would not have the help page) – and there are a lot of email accounts with custom domain names and email at Network Solutions, that is why the help page was made,

  I have email on my custom domain name but there is not a specific help page for my mail server, so things were more difficult getting the email to work.
