How can I insert Google Analytics in the footer of my site?
-
Hi!
I really want to measure the success of all my pages with google analytics. Using wordpress in the past, I remember it being much easier! I can’t update my footer for any theme I choose, and I really want to start tracking.
I have a theme now that lets me add footers, but not the actual CODE. Any help? I’m trying to look into plugins but I feel like such a dummy.

Google Analytics cannot be used on WordPress.com blogs at this time. We’re working to improve our stats and we would love your feedback – is there anything in particular that you’re interested in?
We do offer excellent stats that can be accessed through your dashboard. We have some great support resources for this. For more information, please see: http://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/

As a quick follow-up, plugins are a feature only available for self-hosted installations of WordPress.org, and are not available with hosted WordPress.com sites. For more information, please see http://support.wordpress.com/plugins/.
If you require plugins, you will need to use a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. You can learn more about the differences here.
We have hosting recommendations at the following link if you are interested: http://get.wp.com/hosting/
We also offer a Guided Transfer upgrade – we’ll move everything over for you and get you all setup with your self-hosted WordPress.org installation.
