I want to change the layout in Chateau, but can't figure out how?

    How to change layout in Chateau theme
    I changed my theme to Chateau. I really like it, especially the option to change the background to dark. But I wanted to get rid of the sidebar. In the description it says there are three options, “Chateau features three default layouts for your blog. Two of those layouts feature a typical sidebar, either on the left or right of your content. If you don’t need the sidebar you can choose the third layout to utilize the whole width with your blog posts.” But I cannot seem to figure out how to change them? Is there a page somewhere for each theme, explaining how to make things happen? I also want to do something about the text, which is weird, because on some posts, it is white, and others it is very dark, unreadable. Also the menu in the sidebar is unreadably dark.
